The Tollwood Winter-festival is one of Germany’s most iconic and forward-thinking cultural festivals, held annually in the vibrant city of Munich, Bavaria. Set against the festive backdrop of Theresienwiese the same grounds as Oktoberfest this winter edition of Tollwood combines art, culture, sustainability, and winter charm like no other.

About EurASc & the Event
The European Academy of Sciences (EurASc) is pleased to host its 2025 Annual Symposium & Ceremony at the prestigious CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research — in Geneva. This gathering aims to bring together scholars, researchers, and innovators to reflect on how fundamental science shapes society and its future under the theme:
“Societal Impact of Fundamental Sciences”
Attendees will engage in high-level scientific presentations, interdisciplinary dialogues, recognition of excellence, and visits to CERN’s cutting-edge facilities.
Venue & Logistics
The event takes place within CERN’s main campus.
On 17 December, the venue is the CERN Council Chamber; on 18 December, sessions will be held in the CERN Main Auditorium.
CERN is well connected to Geneva’s public transport system. Tram line #18 offers a direct ~20‑minute ride from Geneva’s main railway station to CERN.
Participants staying in Geneva will benefit from free public transport passes during their stay.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive by 16 December to allow time for pre-event visits (e.g. the CERN Science Gateway).

The official award ceremony, featuring the presentation of the Leonardo da Vinci Award and Blaise Pascal Medals to distinguished laureates
New EurASc Fellows will receive participation certificates
