The chosen applicant will serve as the liaison between our database infrastructure and our data/trade policy analysts. For our database, they will organize outside data sets on economic policy decisions, such as government documents or financial statements. Before updating and moving the restructured data into our MariaDB databases, this entails pre-processing and confirming the data in R. The chosen applicant will also assist senior monitoring leadership in identifying discrepancies in databases, doing routine quality checks, and running various data searches upon request. They will also assist the Tech team in maintaining and enhancing MLL-based web scrapers. The selected applicant occasionally assists trade policy analysts with sophisticated database entry and, upon request, assists the Tech unit with database maintenance.

You are a young social scientist with a keen interest in programming who is seeking a long-term position (at least 18 months) and who can dedicate 80% of the contractual time to working during office hours in the CET time zone. You also have strong programming abilities in Python, R, and SQL (MariaDB). It is advantageous to have more experience with Git processes.possess a minimum of one year of experience in the field.
