About the job:
A PhD post in Machine Learning and Computer Vision with an emphasis on Document Analysis is available in the Machine Learning Research subject at LTU. We provide a strong academic network in Sweden and elsewhere, as well as cutting-edge resources for conducting research. 
In order to apply machine learning and image processing to historical sources, the PhD candidate will collaborate with Professor Elisa Barney on computer vision research. Unsupervised learning, one-shot learning, and rapid system adaptability are examples of possible methods. There is additional interest in document retrieval and comparison. 
In addition to doing theoretical and experimental research, the applicant is expected to present findings at conferences both domestically and abroad and in scholarly publications. You and your family, if eligible, will get full Swedish social benefits for the four-year, full-time PhD post. Along with other PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, you will spend the majority of your working hours on your own research projects. This can be extended to five years if the applicant engages in departmental activities, such as teaching. In Luleå, Sweden, work is to be done.
Qualifications: 
We are seeking a highly driven and passionate PhD candidate who is interested in conducting cutting-edge research. A master's degree in computer science or a related field is required. Proficiency in statistics, deep learning, and machine learning is necessary. You must be able to work both alone and collaboratively, and you must speak and write English fluently.
