Job Description:
PEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPIST
uses various therapeutic approaches to provide direct patient care, perform patient assessments and reassessments, set patient goals, and create a care plan for physiotherapy services, either with or without the use of assistive medical devices and/or equipment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the management of inpatients with respiratory conditions requiring physiotherapy aged 0-18 years.
In charge of caring for inpatients aged 0 to 18 who have respiratory disorders that need physiotherapy.
accountable for the respiratory care of patients with tracheostomies, long-term ventilation, non-CF bronchiectasis, PCD, neuromuscular disorders (including SMA), and other respiratory illnesses.
have a highly specialized role in respiratory clinics, such as those for PCD and non-CF bronchiectasis.
Manage an outpatient caseload.
Assist patients, caregivers, physiotherapy colleagues, and other medical experts by offering advice and serving as a liaison.
Collaborate closely with the pediatric physiotherapy team, respiratory therapists in the PICU, and the pediatric pediatric physician.
As needed, offer cross-coverage to the NICU, PICU, and wards, including late shifts, weekend work, and call duty. Supervise the junior physiotherapists and staff nurses.
serve as a highly specialized resource for information on managing a patient's respiratory health when they have non-CF bronchiectasis, PCD, neuromuscular disorders (such as SMA), tracheostomies, prolonged ventilation, NIV, or other respiratory illnesses.
Exhibits complete compliance and the capacity to adhere to the correct channels of communication and the chain of command when reporting incidents, complaints, and/or other relevant concerns connected to patients.
Ensures that any medical equipment in need of repair is reported to the biomedical engineer and that the necessary follow-up repairs are handled and finished. Maintains perfect compliance with the safety regulations pertaining to physiotherapy medical equipment. Performs functional and calibration checks.
Shows complete adherence to and proficiency with the AHO and PTO clinical policy and procedure, including the safety of patients and equipment as well as the necessary infection prevention and control to deliver patient care.
To enhance patient care services, maintain complete compliance in reporting all incidences pertaining to patient care and/or customer service complaints.
Participates in unit projects, department staff meetings, and the implementation and assessment of innovative goal-achieving strategies.
Performs additional duties and/or tasks as specified and/or assigned.
serves as a clinical resource for the patient, their family, caregivers, and other medical personnel, including junior physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech pathologists, and others.
Maintains the availability of physiotherapy medical equipment for patient's utilization, perform daily and monthly inventory and ensures that these equipment are placed and/or stored in the designated areas.
Maintains full compliance to the safety and availability of physiotherapy medical supplies safe, minimizes medical supplies losses and reports to Materials Management Department all supply replacements, expiry, and losses requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Physiotherapy bachelor's degree or physical therapy bachelor's degree in science.
current practice license from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), United Arab Emirates, or the country of origin or point of hire.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Must have:
a minimum of five (5) years of experience following pediatric physical therapy certification.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
