Job Description Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee the opera6ons of the Aluminum and Glass Division at STEEL DISTRICT. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, the Produc6on Manager will take full responsibility for managing the production process from start to finish, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and project delivery within established timelines. This role requires a leader with a solid technical background, deep expertise in European systems (such as Aluminum and Technal), and local systems (like Gulf Extrusions). The Production Manager will manage a diverse team, ensuring seamless collabora6on across departments, and will be responsible for the procurement, fabrication, and installation processes for multiple ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• End-to-End Project Management:
Assume complete responsibility for project schedules, from start to finish. Give each project a clear schedule and make sure it is finished by the predetermined dates.
• Production Oversight:
Oversee and direct all fabrication and assembly tasks to guarantee that the highest standards of quality are met. To guarantee seamless operations across several projects, coordinate with managers and employees.
• Technical Expertise:
To direct project execution, draw on in-depth understanding of regional systems (Gulf Extrusions) and European systems (Alumil, Technal). Determine technical problems, such as accessories, installation difficulties, and mending details, and offer workable solutions.
• Interpret and Examine Technical Drawings:
Check shop and AutoCAD drawings for precision and conformity to project specifications. Find and fix any mistakes or discrepancies prior to production starting.
• Leadership and Team Management:
Oversee and supervise the division's managers and manufacturers, contractors, and support personnel. To guarantee continuous progress, cultivate a supportive, productive team atmosphere and offer continuing coaching.
• Production Scheduling and Workflow:
Arrange, rank, and keep an eye on the progress of several projects. Use resources wisely to fulfil deadlines while upholding safety and quality requirements.
• Procurement and Material Management:
Oversee the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and consumables, making sure that inventory levels are sufficient to satisfy project requirements. To prevent delays, coordinate with merchants and suppliers.
• Quality Assurance:
Verify that every deliverable satisfies customer expectations and high standards. To guarantee adherence to specifications and quickly resolve quality concerns, conduct inspections at strategic points.
• Health and Safety Compliance:
Verify adherence to rules and standards for workplace safety. Encourage the crew to utilise safe working practices and make sure PPE is used correctly.
• Reporting and Communication:
Serve as the main liaison between the Managing Partner and the production team, giving frequent reports onthe state, difficulties, and advancement of the project. Effectively communicate with stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
• Issue Resolution and Problem-Solving:
Provely detect, troubleshoot, and handle difficulties that arise during fabrica6on or installation. Effective conflict management reduces project disruptions.
Qualifications:
• Experience:
A minimum of 8–10 years of work experience in the glass and aluminium sector, with at least 5 of those years spent in a leadership or managing capacity.
It is necessary to have experience with sliding windows, accordion doors, curtain walls, and various other cutting-edge aluminium systems.
• Technical Experts:
strong familiarity with both local (Gulf Extrusions) and European (Aluminium, Technical) systems. Technical drawings must be able to be read, interpreted, and reviewed in order to spot mistakes before production starts.
• Project Management Skills:
Demonstrated capacity to oversee deadlines and outputs for several projects. Excellent organisational abilities to manage conflicting priorities and fulfil deadlines.
• Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead teams of fabricators, fibres, and installers with a track record of success.
• Communication Skills:
Outstanding verbal and writing communication abilities. the capacity to work together across departments and establish trusting bonds with stakeholders and clients.
• Problem Solving and Decision-Making:
proactive in solving problems and capable of making wise choices under duress.
• Health and Safety Knowledge:
Comprehensive comprehension of safety rules and industry best practices in a manufacturing setting.
