About Company:
A key role in the Foundation's programming branch is that of Programme Officer (contract). The Programme Officer will work carefully with the Head of Programming and the larger programming team, as well as other departments like communications and operations, to ensure that the department and its workflow are meticulously organised, effectively managed, and ambitiously delivered. They will be in charge of entering and preserving information in programme monitoring documents and event management systems, assisting the Programme Managers in making sure that pertinent information about events and speakers is accurately recorded and promptly engaged in to internal and external stakeholders, supervising written content and other content creation processes, and maintaining communication with publishers, agents, and speakers.

 

Core Accountabilities:
• Provide assistance to the programming department and head of programming in the planning and execution of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature 2025.
• Assistance in developing, implementing, and maintaining operating procedures, systems, and program schedules to guarantee the successful execution of events and initiatives, including the creation and upkeep of databases, spreadsheets, and documentation.
• Work closely with speakers before and during the Festival to guarantee the best possible experience and hospitality, and assist colleagues in programming and operations to make sure all speakers are well briefed for participation in events.
• Assist colleagues in communications and programming to guarantee accurate and timely delivery of marketing deliverables.
• Manage the Arabic and English copywriting and content production processes, including copy editing and communicating with internal and external copywriters to meet deadlines.
• Support communication with outside parties, such as sponsors and bookshops, among others.
• Participate in the evaluation of programs and events and offer suggestions for process improvements to reduce risk or difficulty for upcoming events.
• Other appropriate responsibilities pertaining to the aforementioned accountabilities and broader Foundation operations.



Essential:
Proficiency in written and spoken Arabic and English; familiarity in overseeing several projects, frequently with conflicting priorities.
• Excellent administrative abilities and a methodical attitude to work.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities, as well as the capacity for truthful, transparent, and regular communication.
• Experience using influence and persuasion to accomplish goals while collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders and partners, such as marketing and production experts.
• An understanding of and enthusiasm for the publishing, literary, and cultural industries.
• Proficiency in online databases and Microsoft Office.


 Desirable:
• Prior experience working in a non-profit, cultural setting.
• A postsecondary degree in publishing, marketing, literature, or a similar discipline.
