Regarding the position
Who are we? AMRA is a pioneering global informatics health organization leading the way in precision medicine and medical imaging. AMRA was established in 2010 as a spin-off from Linköping University in Sweden with the goal of facilitating critical decision-making and transformational care, ranging from clinical research to wellness and health. We already employ over 40 people worldwide and operate in the US, Europe, Australia, and Asia, but we still need to grow. With a single whole-body MRI, the business has created a new worldwide standard for body composition evaluation, the capacity to automatically generate various muscle and fat indicators with unparalleled accuracy and precision, and contextual disease insights. We collaborate with the world's top pharmaceutical companies and academic hospitals to develop new treatments in the areas of metabolism, neuromuscular disease, and sarcopenia/frailty. The tasks include acting as AMRA's lead scientist for select projects, maintaining the scientific integrity of deliverables, and providing internal and externally with scientific expertise on AMRA's offerings and products in the cardiometabolic and obesity area. This function will be crucial in assisting research examining changes in muscle composition and fat distribution with notable weight loss, given the growing market for anti-obesity drugs. Because of AMRA's solid scientific background and presence, there are opportunities to participate in research studies as a co-author or co-researcher in both internal and external scientific initiatives. Linköping, Sweden, is home to the majority of the team. However, as we are open to remote work, this role does not need to be stationed in Linköping. Expect to travel up to five days each month.
Who do we want to find? We are seeking applicants interested in clinical research, medicine, and fat and muscle imaging applications. You must have a solid technical background and an MSc degree in engineering physics, engineering mathematics, or a related field in order to build a grasp of AMRA's technological platform, measurements, and biomarkers. While not necessary, medical and research experience is very beneficial. Programming abilities are useful, especially with R and Python. Since we work with coworkers and clients worldwide, you must be proficient in both written and spoken English and feel at ease when presenting to outside audiences. You must be adept at taking charge, effectively absorb new information, and feel at ease working both individually and together. What can we provide? We provide an exciting work environment with fulfilling duties, knowledgeable coworkers, and chances to change the world. We are a young business with a solid scientific background that is now expanding its market reach globally. You will have the chance to help create a healthier world as a member of our team.
