Job Summary:
Manages patients' physical treatment independently while being supervised by the director of rehabilitation services or a designee. helps create, carry out, and evaluate specialised patient care programs in addition to offering physical therapy treatments in speciality patient care clinics.
Essential Responsibilities:
Determines the kind and degree of impairment by evaluating patients and interpreting evaluation results. creates therapeutic objectives and organises the course of action to meet those objectives. starts the physical therapy discharge planning process. treats the patient directly as part of the treatment plan, assigns some of the plan to suitable supportive staff, and, where necessary, collaborates the course of therapy with other medical professionals.
Gives the patient and their family guidance and instruction. evaluates symptoms and signs of illness on a regular basis to assess therapy efficacy, patient progress achieving goals, and the necessity of changing treatment and goals. When the patient has benefited as much as possible from physical therapy, the patient is released. documents physical therapy patient care in a timely and accurate manner. Engages in clinical research and educational activities related to physical therapy that are suitable and authorised. engages in extracurricular specialised patient care clinics. helps create, carry out, and evaluate departmental patient care initiatives. carries out additional tasks as required in the areas of departmental operations, personnel training, and departmental initiatives. shows constant progress in fulfilling the requirements for professional practice.
Teaches patient education classes and groups both inside and outside the department in accordance with departmental leadership's definition of operational requirement. fulfils the Rehab Director's request by offering at least one organisational in-service per year, such as a normal in-service session or a journal club presentation. As asked by the Rehab Director, provides clinical instruction to PT students. capable of handling complicated patients on their own with little assistance.
Regular salary reviews of positions are carried out by Kaiser Permanente. Kaiser Permanente retains the right to review and modify job descriptions at any time, as well as to switch between salaried to hourly roles. Basic Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of experience in physical therapy.
Education:
Obtain a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree from a recognised physical therapy program and be certified in physical therapy or its international equivalent.
Registration, Certification, and Licence.
A California physical therapy license is necessary for employment.
Athire, Basic Life Support is essential.
When hiring, a National Provider Identifier is needed.
Additional Requirements:
The ability to operate in a labor/management partnership setting is a must.
Preferred Qualifications:
For PT students, a certified clinical instructor is ideal.
