Center 1 (19052), McLean, Virginia, United States of America Distinguished Engineer in Machine Learning You will be giving technical direction to engineering teams tasked with large-scale productionization of machine learning systems and applications as a Capital One Machine Learning Engineer. Using both established and cutting-edge technological platforms, you will take part in the comprehensive technical design, development, and deployment of machine learning applications. What the position entails: Assist the Product, Architecture, Engineering, and Data Science teams in delivering machine learning models and software components that address difficult business issues in the financial services sector. Encourage the development of machine learning models and tools that make it possible to create cutting-edge intelligent systems. Take the client into consideration while leading extensive ML projects. Utilize cloud-based technologies and architectures to produce ML models that are optimized at scale. To feed ML models, optimize data pipelines. Make use of programming languages such as C/C++, Scala, and Python. Make use of computer technology like RAPIDS and Dask. Promote best practices across the modeling and engineering lifecycles. Assist in attracting, developing, and keeping exceptional engineering talent. Fundamental Requirements A bachelor's degree. at least ten years of expertise with distributed computing to develop and construct data-intensive systems. Programming in C, C++, Python, or Scala for at least six years. at least three years of expertise with the whole machine learning development lifecycle in a business-critical environment with contemporary technologies. At least two years of expertise with high performance computing, Dask, or RAPIDS Having worked with the PyData ecosystem (NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn) for at least two years Preferred Credentials a master's or doctorate degree in mathematics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related discipline. Three years of expertise in creating, setting up, and growing data pipelines that are ready for production and feed machine learning models. 8 years of experience in a multi-line, big, data-intensive corporate setting. Experience working together with colleagues in technology who are in charge of distributed computing platforms and data architecture.
