Job Description: 
STEM CELL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST: 
• Helping with the execution of intricate, highly specialised, and time-sensitive technical cell manipulation and testing procedures on irreplaceable, life-saving cellular products used for cancer patients undergoing Stem Cell Transplantation and/or Cellular Therapy treatment is the main goal of the Stem Cell Technician position.
• Manage stem cell products in the laboratory, encompassing quality control and assay testing, product transportation to nearby hospitals, freezing in preparation for infusion, and any other lab maintenance support duties. In order to create and maintain Stem Cells Processing SOPs that comply with all regulatory agencies, including DHA, FACT, JCI, FDA, AABB, CAP, and AHD policies and procedures, the Stem Cells Technician must work in conjunction with the Laboratory Facility, the Director of Bone Marrow Transplant Services, and the Quality Manager. 
• Assumes overall accountability for the Stem Cell Lab's smooth and productive functioning oversees, plans, and assesses the work of the assigned regions to ensure the best possible patient care is provided.
 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Demonstrates technical proficiency in processing both simple and complex progenitor cells, as well as in quality assurance.
•  Make error-free computations for infusion cell doses, viabilities, dilutions, and cell concentrations, among other things carries out simple technical cell modification and testing on items made by unique cells. 
• Give doctors the results in accordance with the established standard operating procedure. 
• Analyse the specimens and make sure that the laboratory results are accurately recorded. 
• Analyse gathered lab data and write reports in accordance with departmental guidelines. 
• Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory apparatus. To get the best results, make sure the equipment is operated correctly, and make sure any malfunctions are reported on time. 
• Help keep the facility's equipment list, maintenance schedule, and related documents and paperwork organised and accurate.
•  Takes responsibility for fulfilling departmental and organisational goals and enhancing quality indicators related to the department or unit To guarantee excellent customer service, communicate with coordinators of linked programmes and area programme coordinators. 
• Take part in departmental special projects as needed. 
• Computer proficiency, documentation, and record keeping: demonstrates strong computer and record-keeping skills to provide accurate documentation and reporting outcomes to guarantee the quality of patient care. 
• To enter, retrieve, and assemble data, complete patient laboratory records, and produce reports for review by the director of bone marrow transplantation, quality assurance, and clinicians, use a variety of computer systems and databases. 
• Maintains a secure workplace by adhering to hospital policies and guidelines for security, infection control, and safety. 
• Creates quantifiable improvement targets for the particular stem cell laboratory. 
• Notify the patient and/or carer in writing of the testing schedule. 
• Engage in the HSCT patient care conferences, collaborating closely with the medical, nursing, and support staff members who provide care for both inpatients and outpatients.
•  While patients are receiving transplants, work both individually and cooperatively with a multidisciplinary team of hospital staff and services. an in-depth understanding of bone marrow transplantation and the transplant procedure.
•  To guarantee prompt, high-quality patient care, keep in touch with doctors/investigators, nurses, donor coordinators, internal and external testing laboratories, and/or transplant institutions. 
• Demonstrates excellent organising and time management abilities uses expertise and knowledge to interpret data. 
• Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to security, privacy, and confidentiality policies and procedures pertaining to protected health information and other sensitive and private data. 
• Always acts with professionalism in both demeanour and method of approaching every task at work.
• Demonstrates a dedication to one's own professional development. 
REQUIREMENTS:
•  A bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific subject is required, preferably in molecular biology or medical lab.
• Advanced clinical specialty or postgraduate qualifications are preferred. 
• At least two to five years of experience as a molecular biology lab technician Prior experience preparing stem cells or bone marrow for transplantation is preferred. 
• It is preferable to have laboratory experience working with human blood and bone marrow and to be knowledgeable about the characteristics of these cells.
•  Working in laminar flow hoods and aseptic procedures should come naturally to them. Needs to be analytical, well-written, and well-organized. 
• Currently holding a lab technician licence with the DHA and in their nation of origin. 
• It is preferred to have practical experience with stem cell regulation and accreditation according to FACT, JCI, and DHA standards. 
• English communication skills are crucial. 
• Experience in a private hospital is preferred.
