Important Responsibilities
The curriculum should be planned, put into practice, and reviewed in accordance with national guidelines as well as school and exam board standards.
to oversee the examination and updating of all computer science-related lesson plans, including their learning goals and assessment criteria.
to oversee and direct computer science education and training.   
to assist departmental staff in carrying out the school's Behaviour for Learning policy on a daily basis. 
To effectively evaluate staff members using the school's Performance Appraisal system and to perform departmental self-evaluations in order to effectively monitor the quality of teaching and learning. 
to coordinate with the assistant head teacher to ensure the efficient deployment of personnel, including support staff, and instructional materials.
To guarantee compliance with all departmental and school policies. 
To regularly hold departmental meetings, meetings with line management, and to attend management meetings, meetings with parents, and other meetings as necessary. 
To assign and coordinate responsibilities and tasks within the department in order to guarantee best value in computer science.  
To create an annual Department Development Plan with colleagues as part of the school's overall development planning process, and to oversee the plan's execution and review.   
As a participant in the IT Steering Group for the entire school, to support the growth of digital learning throughout the institution. 
To guarantee that the classrooms offer an engaging learning environment.
