Job Summary:
Provides support and assists staff members and faculties in teaching laboratories in the anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and pathology departments. Undertakes general laboratory duties such as cleaning, sorting, rearranging glassware, chemicals and consumables, and cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments.
Responsibilities:
Assists senior technicians in reagent preparation and various equipment settings in laboratory experiments. It helps technicians work on a range of educational laboratory experiments. Students' microscopes should be maintained and cleaned, and their slide arrangements should be changed in between practical sessions. Help with the upkeep of models, slides, organs, specimens, supplies, and glassware in the laboratory. Dangerous and non-hazardous materials should be disposed of properly following safety procedures. Day-to-day maintenance of the distillation water unit, dishwasher and icemaker. Taking care of organs and specimens in the museum. Transferring animals from the animal house and maintaining them for future practical purposes. Assists in maintaining and organizing laboratory supplies and monitoring inventory levels. Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor, technicians and faculties. Communicates effectively with all members involving teaching laboratory affairs.
Required Skills:
B.Sc. or Higher Diploma.
1-3 years relevant experience.
Capacity to manage laboratory tasks for various biological fields.
Good English communication and computer skills.
Reliable, punctual, and well-organized personality.
