A member of the Coffee Stain family, Coffee Stain North is an independent game development company with its headquarters in Stockholm. We presently have 29 developers since our founding in 2013, and we're willing to make a few more buddies!
In the past, we have worked on a variety of game types, such as A Story Concerning My Uncle & the Goat Simulation trilogy (click right here for information on what Goat Enough! is), since we take satisfaction in creating videogames that we actually would like playing! The only things they have in common are narrative and humour. We are now developing Goat Simulator 3.

We are seeking a Lead Programmer who can handle the ongoing expansion of the programming team and take on the duty of organising the code such that it is easy to use for both coders and designers.

The Role:
You will divide your time as a Head Programmer at CSN between developing gameplay directly, streamlining engine operations, resolving bugs and issues, and managing and developing the four developers on the programming team.
You may experiment and work with enjoyable problem-solving because the group of people you will be a part of collaborates closely, is receptive to new ideas, and approaches their projects dynamically. We take great satisfaction in not being mired in antiquated ideas and methods, and we embrace change in all facets of our operations.

You Will:
Organise your work and that of your team.
Write, test, and execute code.
Participate actively in organising the team's work, assessing risk-reward, tech loans, and the most effective way to leverage each team member's unique experience.
Create, implement, and test different codebase components, ranging from lower-level systems to gameplay.
Make sure the work your team produces aligns with the overall game vision, other game platforms, and other game systems.
Plan your schedule with the producers along with other leads, then carry it out with the programming team by assigning responsibilities, discussing progress, giving feedback, and mentoring team members.

Your Background:
A few years of programming experience as well as professional knowledge of the Unreal Engine 4 and Undoubtedly administration are prerequisites for the position. Additionally, it is evident that you have a knack for talking with others and solving problems. To mention a few, we are currently paying more attention to networking, cross-platform development, and user interface.
Since you will be leading and coaching your team, we assume you have some interest in and experience in mentoring and assisting others in achieving success, whether you previously did it as a lead or as an intermediate programmer.

Practical Info:
The job is full-time, permanent, and requires 40 hours a week. We provide the option to work from home two days a week and have a hybrid structure. Our office is situated in Kungsholmen, Stockholm, Fridhem Plan, and has recently undergone renovations. Because our staff members come from all over the world, it is essential that they speak and write English fluently.
We have a the game of ping table, a large lounge space where we can hang out, watch films or play games and, last but not least, a huge statue of a goat. What more could you ask for?
