Background:
One of the top development organisations serving children worldwide, Save the Children Worldwide operates in almost 120 countries. Following the flood of Afghan refugees in 1979, Save the Children began operations in Pakistan and has continued to run ambitious programs there. Through initiatives in livelihoods, education, climate change, child protection, health and nutrition, and humanitarian relief, we have reached over 14 million adults and children in Pakistan. Save the Children is currently collaborating with the Pakistani government in Punjab and Sindh on COVID-19 Emergency Response and ICT.


 

Objective:
In addition to strengthening strategic collaboration and involvement with the country's health and nutrition sector and coordination mechanisms, the consultant will be offering top-notch technical advice and assistance in order to innovate, economically design, manage, and carry on the Health & Nutrition opinions themed/integrated activities for the Pakistan country office. Additionally, the consultant will represent the organisation with important stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, UN agencies, and important INGOs and CSOs. Together with other public health employees in the rural context, the outside professional would be anticipated to support DRR, emergency preparedness, and the evaluation, planning, and execution of humanitarian interventions. The consultant will be in charge of new business development according to the Health & Nutrition response, which will include managing proposals and identifying programs and projects.

 


Deliverables:
• Lead and develop Health & Nutrition portray concept notes and funding proposals in Pakistan.
• Develop a fund-raising strategy and communicate with national and international supporters for support of various programs/activities/new business development opportunities.
• Promote and support the CO's Health Systems Strengthening approach, which supports working in cooperation and partnership with government/national individuals, local partners, and working towards impact, scale, and sustainability.
• Identify funding opportunities and form partnerships with the private/corporate sector, foundations, and High Net Worth Individuals in accordance with SC's Health & Nutrition Strategy.
• Identification of key thematic areas within the Health & Nutrition sectoral programming and keeping abreast of policy changes within the Health & Nutrition sector.
• Collaborate with teams from other theme areas, such as Research & Evidence, to create resources and concepts to enhance upcoming Health & Nutrition initiatives.
• Lead conversations on consortium and partnership agreements in the health industry.
• Establish and oversee robust partnerships for particular health financing opportunities.
• Oversee the proposal's draughting and offer quality control to portions written by other team members. Oversee the creation, development, and execution of proposals.
• Work closely with NBD, SMT, and other pertinent staff in the proposal writing, interpretation, reviews, and sign-off process. 
• Hold design workshops and brainstorming meetings with multidisciplinary teams and pertinent stakeholders as needed to contribute to the proposal creation process.


 

Qualifications and Experience:
The selected Consultant will have:
• A master's degree in medicine, public health, nutrition, or a similar field.
• At least five years of experience working in emergency or development-related health and nutrition contexts in Pakistan.
• Proficiency in crafting high-quality proposals and succinct reports that meet donor-specific requirements
• Knowledge of the Pakistani Health and Nutrition Theme and the ways in which regional or bordering circumstances affect health priorities.
• Well-versed in health systems, health service delivery, community health, and civil society organisation involvement.
• Capable of developing partnerships, representation, and networking to mobilise resources, enhance civil society, and foster learning.
• Knowledge of assisting with humanitarian response, recovery, and readiness.
• Proficient in writing in English and fluent in the language.
