Job Purpose:
Lead the IT technical teams to implement the telecom’s infrastructure strategy and goals to ensure a stable and secure IT/telecommunications environment (telecommunications infrastructure, unified communications and collaboration systems).Create infrastructure system roadmaps and identify, schedule, and approve equipment updates, alterations, and extensions of the telecommunications infrastructure.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
Assist with the technical management of the telecom infrastructure, making sure that all applicable rules and procedures are followed and that the service levels agreed upon are fulfilled. Supervise IT telecom infrastructure maintenance and installation work, including major configuration changes and upgrades, in consultation with others where appropriate, including user representatives, facilities managers, and contractors. Make certain that tasks are completed in accordance with service level agreements. Make recommendations for enhancements after conducting investigations on system usage, security, performance, and dangers. It is imperative to identify, record, monitor, and handle operational issues and problems. Additionally, specialists, users, and managers should receive pertinent status and other reports. Oversee the planning, recording, and safe completion of small- to medium-sized projects while interacting with stakeholders and taking an active role in each stage of the project's development. Lead all stages of the life cycle for telecom software and hardware infrastructure communication systems, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade and migration. Assist in enabling the proper implementation of operational procedures by providing technical skills. Make sure that every activity and procedure is completed successfully and efficiently in accordance with operational level agreements, specified service needs, and agreed-upon service levels. Investigate operational issues, report findings and suggest ways to improve for specialists and users, take part in performance evaluations of telecom infrastructure systems, offer guidance, and support specialists and other system or service providers in their planning of changes and other enhancements to telecom systems and operation. Participate in the planning and execution of installation-related tasks, such as constructing and setting up infrastructure components, and guarantee that agreed-upon maintenance schedules and infrastructure modifications are carried out using the proper tools and testing equipment. Make certain that all protocols are adhered to, especially those concerning security and safety. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, computer engineering, electronics and communications, or information systems is required. 12 years’ experience in network fundamentals and telecommunications. Possess competence in accordance with global IT competency and development frameworks. Is conversant with relevant IT national and international standards and has a broad understanding of all aspects of IT and a deep understanding of their own specialty. knowledgeable about IT risk and security, as well as project and program management. Proven track record of managing a portfolio of IT (telecom) projects, including complex, multiple vendor projects and services within international settings.
