Description: 
Develop and lead multiple research projects and initiatives within the Artificial Intelligence research program, that are aligned to DEWA R&D's research strategy and internal and external stakeholder requirements by implementing mandated practices in research, project management and knowledge management. Research Projects Planning, & Approval: Work with research area to plan, initiate and oversee the research programs, projects & initiatives in the Artificial Intelligence Program, including planning and managing junior team members' tasks, to achieve project objectives along with development of R&D capabilities and technology specific expertise Research Projects Execution: Conduct desk, lab, and field-based research for projects linked to own expertise, including planning and supervising team members' activities, to fulfill project objectives while also developing R&D capabilities. Research Community & Engagement: Develop strategic contributions of the Artificial Intelligence program to the research agenda, publish and present influential papers and/or books, attend workshop and conference committees and deliver invited talks Engage with specific stakeholders from DEWA BUs, external R&D centers, Universities, National Labs, etc. to obtain meaningful results for the related research topics under consideration. Contribute to research centers of excellence in own research program and support technology management team by coordinating with corporate and industry partners for project and initiative execution Support accurate tangible and intangible valuation of R&D project outcomes, such as impact on IP, reputation, DEWA BU processes, etc. Contribute independently to the achievement of IP-related objectives, including the number of publications, invention disclosures, and patent grants, and adhere to the IP management procedure. Measure, test, and evaluate data on technology demonstration initiatives in collaboration with the Technology Advancement and Demonstration team to achieve associated goals and form successful collaborations with internal or external stakeholders. Support the research area lead in budget planning and reviews for relevant research projects to ensure effective planning and execution of research projects and initiatives while complying with DEWA process requirements for budgeting Support Area Lead resource planning and utilization to guarantee the best use of available resources and timely delivery of research projects/initiatives. Contribute to identifying possibilities for continuous improvement throughout one's scope of work to create efficiencies and fulfill the strategic objectives of DEWA R&D. Comply with DEWA R&D's knowledge management standards across respective projects, to ensure the effectiveness of a continual mechanism for comprehensive documentation, seamless information exchange and knowledge retention Identify, review, and recommend to Area Lead the training and development needs of direct reports to fulfill the departmental objectives, as well as manage and motivate the growth of staff capabilities, including alignment with the newest trend. You should have previous experience working as a Lead and managing a team of reporters. 
Basic Qualifications: 
PhD in science or engineering, with at least ten years of experience. 
Preferred qualifications: 
Preferred experience relevant to DEWA's R&D project portfolio.
